It was clear to us from the outset that the environmental associations were critical of the reestablishment of “Horizon Field Vorarlberg” and that a good, fact-based dialog was therefore necessary.
Under the coordination of nature conservation lawyer Katharina Lins, we presented the art project on March 8, 2023 at inatura in Dornbirn. The concerns of the environmental associations were discussed in an objective atmosphere and taken on board by the association.
Antony Gormley was also involved in this dialog. In a video message to the environmental organizations, he explained his artistic idea and, in particular, what the work says about humanity’s treatment of our planet.
Not least because of the concerns raised by the environmental associations, the association has decided to draw up a comprehensive sustainability concept for the rebuild, but also for the time after a possible rebuild.
